The art of saying yes

I have had the enormous pleasure this week of working with Little Bulb Theatre, complemented by an eclectic company of performers. This group of twelve, and assisted by Little Bulb's co-Artistic Director Alex Scott, played all week with the existing text, songs and big swag of ideas to help me determine the next steps for the show. What a wonderful collection of people; there was no grandstanding, no ugly ego and a magic in the way they kept saying yes, even when some of the ideas are awful and the text seriously flawed. Its been a rewarding part of the adventure so far; humbling, inspiring and life affirming. When lots of the people in management are busy saying no - or worse saying nothing at all, there are many many artists practicing the art of yes. There will be a read/sing through on 1st October.
