Happy New Year

 2011 marks a year of change as spaceship earth hurtles around the sun. We are not passengers, we are the crew. The unprecedented rate of change in our natural environment and the speed with which we are fundamentally changing the balance of life on earth is alarming. I am positive, hopeful and determined to raise awareness about how to creatively embrace change and do my bit to help shift us from the destructive course our ship seems to be on. How? Encourage people to get involved in a creative process, encourage people to think about how green issues may be connected to other areas of our lives and how we measure success. Encourage people to embrace serious issues and have fun. For me its not about deadlines and ultimatums, IE if we don't sort it out in four years we are all doomed; its a combination of soul searching, changing behaviour and looking beyond the individual to social change, social justice and exploring how we live together on this ship we share with so many others. I'm not saying its easy or that the path is clear but imagination is a powerful tool. Imagine the future - differently, positively. Try to match your own dreams and ambitions with a better wider world view. Keep making resolutions and creating new year moments to keep yourself on course. I know this won't be my only new year celebration in 2011. Pippa x
