The IETM meeting in Berlin was all about crisis - so effective in its vision that it co-incided with a real crisis as the Icelandic Volcano belched out ash, creating travel chaos. This perspective added value to our conversations as many people considered the environmental impact of all the flights and the glorious quiet which came from plane free skies. The British Council came to the rescue of a busload of UK delegates and drove us home. Hooray for them.
